Our topic this term is ‘Back to our Roots’ and we are learning all about farming and growing.

This term we will be learning all about farming across the world. We will also be investigating how farming has changed over the last 300 years.  Alongside this, we will be exploring how plants grow and what plants need to survive. When the weather gets a little warmer we will plant our own seeds and learn how to look after and care for our plants. We will also investigate where our food comes from and the importance of supporting local farmers.

This term so far….

Class Dojo

Reception Parents only

This year we will be using Class Dojo to keep you connected with your child’s learning and upcoming events. You have been given a letter with your child’s code to join our class page. All you need to do is download the App and register as a parent (instructions are on the letter).

We encourage you to upload your own photographs of home learning and any experiences you would like to share with us and the rest of the class.

If you’re having trouble getting connected or have any questions then please feel free to pop in and ask.

Reading

Read with your child as often as you can but a minimum of 4 times a week. Please sign your child’s reading record when you have read and we will change their reading book. If your child is in Reception, now is a great time to set up or continue your reading routine and enjoy sharing a book together. Stuck for a good book? Take a look at the top 100 books for KS1 below… 100 Books KS1 1 100 Books KS1 2 100 Books KS1 3 100 Books KS1 4 100 Books KS1 5
