Welcome to Caterpillar class

Our topic this term is Planet SOS – The Problem with Pollution!

This term we will be learning all about pollution and the impact that man-made materials have on our planet. We will be focusing particularly on the ocean and the problem with plastic! We will be investigating different ways that we can reduce the impact we have on our environment, such as learning to compost, recycle and even making our own wind turbines! We will be exploring this topic through some wonderful texts, such as ‘Compost Stew’, ‘What a Waste’, ‘The Window’ and ‘Somebody Swallowed Stanley’. We will also be learning about the important role of wildlife Sanctuaries, Veterinarians and Wildlife Conservationists.

We encourage you to upload your own photographs of home learning and any experiences you would like to share with us and the rest of the class.

If you’re having trouble getting connected or have any questions then please feel free to pop in and ask.

Read with your child as often as you can but a minimum of 4 times a week. Please sign your child’s reading record when you have read and we will change their reading book. If your child is in Reception, now is a great time to set up or continue your reading routine and enjoy sharing a book together. Stuck for a good book?
